WE EXPECT GHANA’S INFLATION TO HIT A SINGLE DIGIT BY CLOSE OF YEAR — Mahama

President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama hopes to see Ghana’s inflation rate drop to a single digit by the end of the year.

He asserts that the administration is now working to restore the economy’s macro stability and economic momentum.

He pointed out that the country’s inflation rate had risen to 23% up until this point, or 2024, but that it is currently 13.7% as a result of his government’s arrival and economic reforms.

By the end of the year, the president hopes that the nation will see single-digit inflation as a result of improved economic management.

Speaking on Ghana’s Inflation rate, he mentioned that “We are re-establishing macro stability and the growth momentum of the economy. Inflation rose to a high of almost 23% in 2024 and is currently down to 13.7% and we expect that by the end of the year, we will hit single digit”

He added, “As Simon said, we’ve been upgraded from junk status to B- with a stable outlook, and I am certain that in the next review we are going to be upgraded again,” he said while speaking at Ghana Presidential Investment Forum at TICAD-9 in Yokohama, Japan.
