Kanye West allegedly dismisses Yeezy employee for playing Drake’s music

According to rumours, Kanye West allegedly let a Yeezy worker go after he suggested playing Drake’s music.

One former employee remembers Kanye playing his own music at his studio space just before he unveiled his Yeezy Season 1 collection in 2015 in a new Rolling Stone piece exposing the “toxic,” “abusive,” and “chaotic” working climate at Yeezy.

Kanye reportedly looked around the room and asked the staff member what game to play after one of his designers suggested he play something different. The employee, who was more of a punk and rock enthusiast than a Hip Hop aficionado, allegedly lost their job because they awkwardly proposed Drake.

“I thought, ‘Oh, he’s a rapper, I should probably mention some rap,’” the former employee said. “Big mistake — the next day I was fired.”

Although their relationship has been difficult throughout the years, Kanye West and Drake seemed to be getting along in 2015.

They collaborated on Big Sean’s “Blessings” song, performed on the same stage at OVO Fest, and there was even rumors of them releasing an album together

The former Yeezy employee’s remarks, however, indicate that Kanye’s conflict with Drake was simmering at a hotter temperature than most fans believed before it erupted into an all-out battle last year.
