#SONA: ‘E-levy will drastically reduce current economic hardships’ – Prez Akufo Addo insists
Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has told Ghanaians that the e-levy would help alleviate the country’s excessive misery.
Nana Addo said Ghanaians would soon notice improvements in their lives.
“Mr. Speaker, despite the lengthy and often heated debate, I am pleased that the House has finally passed the E-levy Bill. Thank you to all Members of the House who helped make this levy possible.
We are in a tough situation, Mr. Speaker, but we have begun on a strong basis by acknowledging that and making the painful choices that will get us out. If we ever had any concerns about the need of self-sufficiency, we now have them. The Ghana Beyond Aid agenda is now more compelling.”
“I have no doubt that we can construct the Ghana of our dreams. When COVID hit, I observed the spirit of unity and mutual aid. We protected each other. I witnessed Ghanaian spirit of business and innovation.”
In addition to producing sanitizers, our manufacturers swiftly adapted their operations to create face masks as fashion items.
