“UNLESS THEY FLEE THE COUNTRY, WE WILL PROSECUTE THEM”— Interior Minister Vows Justice Over Ablekuma North Violence

Interior Minister, Muntaka Mubarak, has vowed to deal with persons involved in the violence that erupted at the just-ended by-elections at Ablekuma North in Accra.

The elections which sought to elect a Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma North constituency were bedevilled with a series of violence, disruptions, throwing constituents and polling officers as well as agents from both political parties into a state of unrest and panic.

Some videos showed former Fisheries Minister, Hawa Koomson, being brutalised by factions believed to be from the National Democratic Congress, NDC, and properties at the St. Peter’s Methodist Church were vandalised.

Addressing the media in Accra, the Interior Minister assured Ghanaians that perpetrators of the chaos will be brought to book and prosecuted according to the laws of the land.
