‘I’ll complete the 111 hospitals I promised before I leave office’ – Akufo Addo assures Ghanaians

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has pledged to build 101 district hospitals before stepping down in 2024.

He claims the projects would be finished before a new administration takes office in 2025.

In his 28th address to Ghanaians, President Mahama stated that lack of health facilities in certain areas of the nation is hampering the battle against the epidemic.

“There are 111 areas without district hospitals in the nation, and we must act. The formation of the new regions necessitates the building of 6 regional hospitals, one for each of the new areas, and the rehabilitation of the Effia Nkwanta Hospital in the Western Region.

Agenda 111

“Agenda 111, the nation’s largest ever healthcare investment, was born out of this. “Work is started and will be completed before my term ends on 7 January 2025,” Akufo-Addo stated.

The Western Region, two specialty hospitals in the middle and northern belts, and a regional hospital in the Western Region.

The Project’s goal is to improve quality healthcare delivery at the district level and provide access for all inhabitants, thereby achieving SDG 3.

Upon completed, the project will be the country’s “biggest investment in healthcare infrastructure since independence.”
