ASANTEHEMAA’S ONE-WEEK OBSERVATION SLATED FOR AUGUST 21
The Asantehemaa, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has announced preparation for the one-week observation of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2025.
It comes after the Asante Queen’s death was formally announced on Thursday, August 7, 2025
The Manhyia Palace’s forecourt in Kumasi will host the one-week ceremony.
Following eight years of devoted devotion to the Ashanti Kingdom, mourners from all over Ghana and beyond are anticipated to come together to offer the Asante king their final respects.
Chiefs, queen mothers, government representatives, and members of the public are anticipated to attend in mourning clothes, according to palace officials, who claim the event would adhere to traditional Asante practices.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III was renowned for her kindness, knowledge, and dedication to upholding Ashanti customs.
It has been said that the Kingdom and the country have suffered a “great loss” in her passing.
